Frustrating

So does anyone have any tips on potty training a child who doesn't seem to care if she wet her pants and doesn't seem to mind wearing wet pants. And won't even own up to having wet her pants? I just don't know what to do with this child.

Hi,
I have trained both my kids using the method from the book "toilet training in less than a day". It usually takes me more like 3 days and I do adapt it to my kids(I don't use the doll part). So basically I live in my kitchen and all I do all day long is potty train. I totally feel for you! Potty training is so much work and so frustrating! Best of luck!

i hate potty training! what worked for my daughter is to not have me get on her case about it. if i got upset because she had wet pants, then she didn't care. but if i said something along the lines of "oh, too bad. what are you going to do about it?" and we had rules in place (like if she's wearing wet pants, she can only hang out in the bathroom or kitchen), things seemed to trigger in her brain a little better. some moms i've talked to use going somewhere as an incentive: "you wet your pants? too bad, i was about to take you to the park. guess you'll have to stay home with dad" (or whatever works in your family--i know the logistics can be crazy) good luck and keep going! by the way, one of my friend's sons was 4 and in sunbeams and still wore a diaper because he just didn't care about potty training. and then, he just decided to do it one day! she really will decide to do it eventually.
